U-22 Indonesian National Team won a gold medal SEA Games 2023 perfectly because they appeared unbeaten since the group phase.
Indra Sjafri’s squad started the SEA Games match against the Philippines. Having had trouble scoring a goal, Marselino Ferdinan then opened Indonesia’s victory at the end of the first half. Irfan Jauhari and Fajar Fathur Rahman then added to the suffering of the Philippines.
In the second match, the U-22 Indonesian National Team finished the match with a big victory. Two goals from Ramadhan Sananta and goals from Marselino, Fajar and Titan Agung made the Red and White team secure three points.
The U-22 Indonesian national team then won another clean sheet when they met Timor Leste. After Sananta opened the scoring in the first half of the match, Fajar added two goals in the second half.
The meeting against the host in the closing match of the group phase ended with a tougher score. Indra’s player rotation looks quite influential. Titan’s goal was answered by a goal from a Cambodian player. Beckham Putra Nugraha was the winner.
In the group phase, Indonesia collected four wins with a goal difference of 13 goals against and conceded once.
Vietnam’s challenge in the semifinal match was completed well. Indonesia and Vietnam exchanged goals. After Komang Teguh scored, Vietnam replied midway through the first half.
Muhammad Ferrari then brought Indonesia to the lead again in the second half until Bagas Kaffa scored an own goal. A goal by Muhammad Taufany Muslihuddin in injury time made Indonesia win 3-2.
In the final match, Indonesia is certain to meet Thailand, which is the collector of the most SEA Games titles for the sport of football.
Indonesia took an early lead 2-0 thanks to Ramadhan Sananta’s goal in the first half. Thailand scored a goal to close the distance through Anan Yodsangwal.
A goal in the dying seconds of the second half by Yotsakorn Burapha sent the match into extra time.
Goals from Irfan Jauhari, Fajar Fathur Rahman, and Beckham Putra Nugraha then ensured that Indonesia won with a score of 5-2.
