Judo: The JSV Kaiserslautern won a lot of medals at the Nibelungen tournament in Worms

At the 41st Nibelungen ranking list tournament in Worms last weekend, 12 judokas from the Kaiserslautern Judo Sports Club and the Heinrich-Heine Gymnasium started. In a total of 4 age groups, 7 times the first place, 2 times the 2nd place and 2 times the 3rd place could be achieved.

Ilja Müller was allowed to start in both the U11 and U13 age groups and fought for third place in the U11 and a great first place in the U13.

Livian Hermann, actually age group U11, unfortunately suffered an injury during the course of the tournament after strong fights in the U13, so that he had to admit defeat to his opponent.

Leni Volz and Carina Burdulescu showed great performances in the U13 and were able to successfully finish the tournament as first place in their weight class.

In the U15 age group, Noah Njonga and Paul Steinbrenner as well as Lina Stark and Maxima Zink had to compete against each other as teammates in the tournament. Lina and Paul were able to assert themselves in strong fights and score points.

In the overall standings then reached Noah
Njonga and Lina Stark each took first place, Maxima Zink second and Paul Steinbrenner third place.

Andrej Müller also started in the U15s. In powerful fights, he was able to assert himself against all opponents and thus secure first place.

Gabi Pereskocka was also able to finish the tournament in first place in the U15 after strong fights.

Laura Geiß had to admit defeat once in the course of the tournament and ended up on a good 2nd place.

Unfortunately, Ben Wilhelm, Adriana Puntureri and Erika Müller could not place despite good performances.

Parallel to the Nibelungen tournament in Worms, the international cup tournament Ursapharm Cup was held in Saarbrücken, where Leon Babyar started in the U11 age group and took a proud 3rd place.

The JSV Kaiserslautern and the HHG continue to work on becoming a fixture in the West Palatinate again and on sifting through and promoting talent. The last tournament successes show that we are on the right track here.
