For his second participation in the French team championship, Charlie Landau will have the luxury of fighting Lavalwhich is about thirty kilometers from saint bodelthe village he comes from.

“Honestly, it’s very nice, because such competitions are quite rare in Mayenne”, rejoices the judoka in the weight category up to 90 kg. I know that my family will support me, it will be a strength. I see this as an opportunity. »

This could be the last time he can fight in Mayen during the French team championships, the federation wishing to organize these events in the Paris region during the next competition. Charlie Landau is due to perform at Espace Mayenne on Saturday.

A medal as a goal

To shine in these championships, the strength of the group is almost a decisive asset. “We can bring together the best, but the most important thing is the collective spirit,” says Mayennes, who went to Les Sable d’Aulonne for an internship to prepare for this national competition and further strengthen this cohesion.

With his team from Sainte-Geneviève, the objective will be to win a medal, as he has done for thirteen years. “It’s a serious competition for the team and me. With 13 medals in a row, we don’t want the streak to end at home”, says Charlie Landau, who will meet the best French judokas.

Everyone is obliged to participate in the French championships. Legend Teddy Rinner (+90 kg) will be practiced for men on Saturday. same for me Clarisse in Agnen the next day for women.

“There will be a French judo gratin here. The athletes present are not necessarily present during the individual championships. It’s the best competition to discover judo”, denies the 28-year-old judoka.
