Jurij Rodionov fails in the first qualifying round of Rome

The main grid of the Rome Masters 1000 tennis tournament remains without an Austrian.

Jurij Rodionov fails in the first qualifying round of the million-euro event held on sand. The Lower Austrian won the first set (6:2) against Brit Jan Choinski, but then lost 1:6.2:6. Rodionov won the only duel between the two in February in an Italy Challenger.

Fixed in the women’s tournament in Rome is Julia Grabher from Vorarlberg. She meets the Italian Nuria Brancaccio at the start.

Dominic Thiem does not serve in Rome. The 29-year-old decided a long time ago to compete in the current Mauthausen Challenger. There, the Lower Austrian will face a qualifier from Burgenland (All information >>>).
