Mexico wins gold medal in women’s Compound Bow at the World Cup in China

The Mexican women’s compound bow team defeated South Korea and won the gold medal at the Archery World Cup, held in Shanghai, China.

The National Commission for Physical Culture and Sports (Conade) congratulated Ana Hernández, Andrea Becerra and Dafne Quintero, who make up the women’s team, for this achievement.

“Golden Arrows! Ana Hernández, Andrea Becerra and Dafne Quintero defeat South Korea in the compound bow team final, and win the gold medal at the Archery World Cup, held in Shanghai, China. Many congratulations!”, said the Conade in his social networks.

The Mexicans started the game with an advantage during the first set 58-56.

During the second set, the Mexican goalkeepers took control of the game again with a score of 56-57 and a cumulative score of 115-113.

However, the South Korean team sought to overcome the defeat and get the medal, so in the third set they won 173-171.

But the total score was 230-226 in favor of Mexico, which won the gold medal in compound bow.

“The Mexican women’s team, made up of Andrea Becerra, Dafne Navarro and Ana Sofía Hernández, wins a gold medal in the compound bow, in the II stage of the Archery World Cup in Shanghai, China. It beats Korea 230 to 226,” said the Mexican Olympic Committee.

The Mexican archers defeated Italy 229-224 in the quarterfinals and Turkey 236-232 in the semifinals. They eventually met South Korea in the grand final.
