The Feyenoord-Go Ahead Eagles championship match was watched by 992,000 people on Sunday, Stichting KijkOnderzoek (SKO) reports. The club from Rotterdam has conquered the national title by winning 3-0.
More than 1.1 million people saw the presentation of the championship bowl. ESPN 1 broadcast both the game and the ceremony. The main channel of the ESPN pay channels is available at no additional cost from providers such as KPN, Ziggo and T-Mobile.
At the beginning of May, a similar number of people (911,000) watched the final of the cup match between Ajax and PSV.
Earlier on Sunday, 212,000 people watched the game between Groningen and Ajax. This game was broadcast by ESPN 2, for which you have to pay extra.
More than 1.3 million people switched to Studio Sports Eredivisiein which much attention was paid to Feyenoord’s victory.
The game and the bowl presentation on ESPN rank fourth and fifth in Sunday’s top 25 most-watched programs.
