Two months after the resignation of CEO Peter Bossaert, there is another crisis of confidence at the top of the football association. The executive committee sent a letter to the members of the board of directors on Tuesday evening to raise the difficult relationship with chairman Paul Van den Bulck.

Van den Bulck was already the driving force behind the departure of Peter Bossaert at the beginning of this year and has now also come into conflict with various directors. The management denounces Van den Bulck’s meddling and believes that it cannot continue the work it has done in recent years. Two long-serving members of the executive committee are currently at home on a doctor’s order.

With the letter, the management hopes to increase the pressure on the board of directors to appoint a new chairman. In a month’s time there will be presidential elections anyway and six new mandates within the board of directors will have to be voted on. It consists of four members of professional football (Pro League), two members of Flemish amateur football (Voetbal Vlaanderen), two members of the French-speaking amateur wing (ACFF) and two independents. It remains to be seen whether concrete steps will be taken by the Executive Board before that date.
