Last Saturday the 24th edition of the ‘Los Mayos’ Judo Games was held, which has had a record participation since there were nearly 400 judokas in the Adolfo Suárez Pavilion during the sports day.
The activities had a morning session with three regional competitions for the categories alevín, benjamín and mini (prebenjamín), in which more than 300 athletes performed.
In the afternoon, a fun Judo exhibition was held in which approximately 60 athletes participated.
The large audience that attended the different events of the day and filled the stands of the pavilion was able to enjoy the performance of the youth teams of the main clubs in the region.
On the other hand, given the wide participation, the competition launched a new format consisting of a previous phase of leagues, whose first classifieds accessed the final phase of the competition that gave rise to the regional champions. In this way, our municipality continues its pioneering trajectory with new formats of Judo activities.
The results for the athletes from Alhama were excellent since medals were won in all categories, both in the preliminary phase with 13 medals and in the final phase with 8, which presages the continuity of the local Club’s successes.

EXHIBITION
In the afternoon session, an exhibition of judokas between 4 and 12 years old was held in which they showed different skills in agility exercises, reaction speed, demonstration combats and Judo Floor and Judo Foot techniques for just over an hour.
The exhibition had more than 60 participants, 16 of them judokas from the local club as well as numerous collaborators. The athletes were Elena Romar, Miguel Cárceles, Martín López, Alejandro Hernández, Alejandro García, Javier Corbalán, Haitham Abderrahmane, Eliam Gonzalo Balaguer, Carla Romar, Elena Cárceles, Carolina González, Aurora López, Adrián Hernández, Héctor González, María Lobo and Laura Andreo.
