Sentenced to a fine of 133,000 euros, Hugo Gaston continues to make people talk, some of his compatriots have already reacted by condemning the ATP.

After winning 1is round of the ATP 250 Lyon against Lloyd Harris (6-4, 6-2) this Monday, Arthur Rinderknech gave his opinion on the astronomical fine received by Hugo Gaston after his gesture of anti-game during his defeat in the 2nd round of the Madrid Masters 1000 against the Croatian Borna Coric.

« The fine imposed on Hugo is downright excessive. I understand the ATP has increased the fines. It is indeed a very bad gesture but is it worth such a sum, I find it enormous even if this kind of reflex is not to be seen on a tennis court“, reacted the French player.

Without supporting his compatriot, Rinderknech condemns the ATP, just like Corentin Moutet who gives his full support to Hugo Gaston: “He made French people dream at Roland-Garros and Bercy, he has an irreproachable attitude 95% of the time but he is human like all of us.” The French number 5 directly attacks the Atp in passing: “I would like to know where all this money is going, it’s shameful to take so much money from someone who has invested his life to be there».

For its part, the ATP specified that the fine of 133,000 euros would be reduced by half, provided that the behavior of the player is irreproachable for one year.
