Endowed with a mind-blowing physique during his young years, Arnold Schwarzenegger was one hell of an athlete. And yet, that didn’t stop him from being considered a real dwarf next to a legend of the parquet floors in the 80s… Even today, the Hollywood star is all over it.
Still very active when he is now 75 years old, Arnold Schwarzenegger has definitely had a busy life. The Austrian-born has gained incredible notoriety in the United States and around the world through the decades, between his appearances in Hollywood blockbusters or his tenure as governor of California. But at the base, we are mainly talking about a crazy athlete, even elected “Mr. Universe” several times.

Practicing bodybuilding during his youth, the native of Thai quickly established himself as an essential personality in the field by chaining the rewards. Next to him, most of the other athletes paled in physical terms… At least, if we except the world of basketball, as the interpreter of the Terminator found in the early 80s.

Arnold Schwarzenegger impressed by the strength of Wilt Chamberlain
Already impressed with the Shaq some time ago, “Schwarzi” was even more so by a certain Wilt Chamberlain. In addition to being one of the most dominant players in history, the pivot has also tried his hand at the cinema and notably starred in the film Conan the Destroyer with the actor. The two men also trained together and Arnold has kept an imperishable memory of it, as he confided to Bill Simmons:
I was a big fan of him because when he came to the gym he did tricep extensions – the big guys, the strongest guys could lift 55 pounds, say – he would come and lift 70 at 78 kilos as if it were nothing. That’s how strong he was. I remember once he picked me up with one arm like it was easy for him.
Let us specify in case that the person concerned then weighed all the same more than a hundred kilos, in particular in the 80s during which the film had been shot. It says a lot about the power of The Stilt, he who walked on the competition during his NBA career with the exception of his rival Bill Russell. From the top of his 2m16 for 125 kilos on the scale, Wilt was simply terrifying.
Arnold Schwarzenegger was making his weight (literally) back when he was a heavy bodybuilder, but that didn’t stop Wilt Chamberlain from being able to lift him like a cup of coffee. To say that the former pivot was one of the strongest men in the world would not be an exaggeration.
