They were a perfect match in terms of sport, but meanwhile there is a bad relationship between NBA legends Scottie Pippen and Michael Jordan. Pippen taunts his former teammate again.

Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen won six NBA titles together with the Chicago Bulls in the ’90s. The two basketball players were considered the Dream duo of the US basketball league par excellence – even if Jordan was always in the spotlight and Pippen in his shadow.

This disproportion caused resentment even during active times. In the meantime, however, the relationship between the two stars seems to have broken down. In a podcast, Scottie Pippen once again made disparaging remarks about his former teammate. “I watched Michael Jordan play before I came to the Bulls. He was a terrible player,” he told Stacey King, who also played on the team with Pippen and Jordan.

The talent that Jordan undoubtedly possessed that would go on to make him one of the greatest athletes of all time was apparently not apparent to Pippen before they both played in Chicago. “It was terrible to play with him. It was always one-on-one and he kept throwing bad shots,” said the 56-year-old. Jordan has been with the Bulls since 1984 and Pippen was drafted in 1987.

It was the strong teammates who made Jordan and the Chicago Bulls great, Pippen claims: “Suddenly we were a team and became successful. People forgot who he really was. He was a player who wasn’t really one of the best.” Nevertheless, Jordan became an absolute world star, while his teammates – especially Pippen – had his back.

It’s not the first time Scottie Pippen has spoken negatively about his former teammate. After the Netflix documentary “The Last Dance” about Michael Jordan’s last season with the Bulls, Pippen was annoyed: “Michael was paid ten million dollars for his role in the documentary. My teammates and I didn’t get a penny.” He also criticized the fact that Jordan was always celebrated even when the games were weak: “In the eyes of the admiring press and public, he was still the flawless Jordan.”
