Sunday 21 May 3rd ed. judo experience

The judo world championships in Doha have just ended and Italy has obtained 4 important medals.

Among these Manuel Lombardo won the silver medal in the 73kg category.

Sunday 21 May he will be present at the third edition of Judoexperience in Milan together with the masters Alfredo and Beppe Vismara for a beneficial intersocial training in favor of the dojo activity in Malindi.

Below is a brief presentation of the project by Alfredo Vismara, promoter of judo in Malindi since the beginning.

I had a dream: to bring judo to Kenya. And today, I am happy to say that that dream, setting up a judo school in Kenya has become an established reality, but we still need your help to make it grow and thrive.

When I first visited Kenya, I could see the incredible potential of this country and its young people. However, I also noticed the lack of opportunities and the need for programs that could help young people develop their skills and build a better future.

It was at that moment that I realized that judo could make a difference, more than 20 years have passed since then. With friends of judo we worked enthusiastically to bring judo to the Malindi community on the Kenyan coast.

I shared my passion and my experience together with that of the teachers of judo friends and we organized free lessons for the young people.

It has been wonderful to see how judo has captured the attention and enthusiasm of young people and children. Friendships emerged, mutual respect and a sense of discipline permeated their lives. Over time, we have seen the growth of new talent in Kenyan judo, and judo has changed their lives for the better.

Young athletes who have shown commitment, determination and talent, and have made judo their profession as teachers. Local and national tournaments were organized, creating an atmosphere of healthy competition and individual growth in the spirit of kodokan judo.

Young Kenyan athletes have demonstrated great ability, facing challenges with courage and learning important life lessons through the practice of judo.

Today, the presence of judo in Kenya is a consolidated reality, but we still have a long way to go.

We need your help to grow this movement and provide more opportunities for young people. There are many things you can do to contribute to this cause.

Sunday 21 May there will be a charity training to raise funds for the judo school in Kenya, open to all with my brother Beppe and Manuel Lombardo, top athlete of the Italian national team. Download the poster here to participate.
