The Fuerteventura Badminton team gets more than 14 medals in the Canary Islands School Age Championship

On the weekend of May 5 to 7, the 40th edition of the Canary Islands School Age Championships, in the badminton modality, was held at the Tafira University Campus Pavilion in Gran Canaria, organized by the General Directorate of Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands.

The Fuerteventura badminton team represented by players and coaches from the CB Tiguaneje and CB Pajaritos Playas de Tuineje clubs, traveled to play the said competition.

The match began on Friday the 5th at 4:00 p.m. with the team competition between islands with the cadet selection (sub17) formed by: Alexia Domínguez, Daniela Ramos, Eliana de Saá, Aday Correia, Enrique Socorro and Juan José Espinoza and the child selection (under 15) formed by: Aixa Santana, Katia A. Cáceres, Nadira Pérez, Enzo J. Mouriño, César Mateo Camejo and Germán A. González.

Both modalities obtained the silver medalbeing in second position after falling in the final with the island of Tenerife.

On Saturday the 6th and Sunday the 7th of May, the competition by modalities was held where Fuerteventura presented applicants in all of them, demonstrating once again the good level that exists on the island in this sporting activity, achieving a total of 14 medals (2 golds , 8 silvers and 4 bronzes), distributed as follows:

SINGLES MALE SUB 15:
Bronze: Enzo J. Mouriño and César Mateo Camejo (CB Tiguaneje).

U15 MALE DOUBLES:
Silver: Enzo J. Mourino and Cesar Matthew Camejo (CB Tiguaneje).

MIXED DOUBLES UNDER 15:
Silver: Germain A. Gonzalez and Katia A. Caceres (CB Tiguaneje).

SINGLES MALE SUB 17:
Bronze: Enrique Socorro (CB Pajaritos).

U17 FEMALE SINGLES:
Bronze: Alexia C. Dominguez (CB Birds).

U17 FEMALE DOUBLES:
Gold: Alexia C. Domínguez and Daniela Ramos (CB Pajaritos).

U17 MALE DOUBLES:
Silver: Juan J. Espinoza and Aday Correia (CB Tiguaneje).

MIXED DOUBLES UNDER 17:
Silver: Eliana de Saá and Enrique Socorro (CB Pajaritos).

After the results obtained, together with the effort of the season, the players of CB Tiguaneje, Enzo J. Mouriño and César M. Camejo (children’s team) and the players of CB Pajaritos, Alexia Domínguez and Daniela Ramos (cadet team) have been selected and selected to be part of the Canary Islands National Team that will play the Spanish Badminton Championship for Autonomous School-Age Selections and Inclusive and that will be held between June 22 and 25 in Talavera de la Reina (Toledo). For his part, Enrique Socorro from CB Pajaritos is selected as the first substitute for the cadet team.
