The games of once upon a time, off to the first lippa trophy

Full of fun once upon a time. The first Lippa City of Lodi Trophy will be staged on Saturday on the baseball fields of the Faustina sports center. It is promoted by Unitre, the University of the Third Age on the occasion of World Play Day. Yesterday the event was presented at the Circolo Archinti in viale Pavia. The lippa is the “game of the grandparents” who played it in the fields, in the squares or in the street. It consists of blowing a stick pointed at the two ends, beating it with a stick, and then hitting it on the fly to send it as far as possible. 20 teams are registered in the tournament: two are from municipal administrators of Lodi, the majority with the mayor, and the minority. They will clash on Saturday at 12. The Unitre will promote the popular game also through a project that will involve numerous schools in the autumn.
