The XXIX edition of the Women’s Sports Meetings conclude with more than half a thousand participants in the 11 activities included in the program

Hiking activities are consolidated as the most seconded with a participation of 383 people, followed by gymnastics with 64 participants, yoga with 47, boxing with 22 and archery with 20 people.

The Councilor for Sports of the City of Lorca, Irene Jódar, has reported the end of the XXIX edition of the Women’s Sports Meetings.

Jódar explained that “on May 10 the twenty-ninth edition of the Women’s Sports Meetings concluded with the hiking route along the beaches of Puntas de Calnegre after almost a month of sports activities that have been carried out both in the urban center as in the districts”.

The mayor has detailed that “a total of 536 people have enrolled in the extensive program of organized sports activities and hiking activities have been consolidated, one more edition, as the most seconded.”

Jódar Pérez has indicated that “in the inaugural march through the upper neighborhoods with a guided visit to Calvario, the hermitage of San Lázaro and the church of Santa María, 254 people participated, of whom 202 were women and 52 were men. Regarding the route of closing hike through Puntas de Calnegre, the number of people registered was 129 and the majority were women”.

The Councilor for Sports has specified that “the gymnastics workshops in the districts of Zarcilla de Ramos, Zarzadilla de Totana, Aguaderas, La Campana and La Parroquia have had the participation of 64 people. In the boxing initiation workshop given by the Lorca Boxing Club at Los Álamos Gym, the number of attendees was 22 and in the case of archery, there were 20 women who came to participate in the activity with the Arco Lorca club and the ‘Flechas Rosas’ group and, in Regarding the yoga sessions in the open air, 30 people attended the workshop given at the hermitage of San Lázaro; and 17 did so at El Calvario”.

Finally, Irene Jódar has revealed that “the closure of the XXIX Women’s Sports Meetings was held with a meal in the Antonia Navarro halls of the La Hoya district.”
