(pm). The Friedberg Braves celebrated their first win of the season in the third game of the season in the national baseball league. The Frankfurt Eagles II were beaten 15:2 on the Seewiese. Due to the so-called “ten-run rule”, the game was over after only seven innings due to the superiority of the home side.

Pitcher Michael De Molder was able to keep the Eagles in check from the start. The Braves, for their part, scored two runs (points) in the first inning through Jonas Meurer and Joshua Lucio Tippmann. Over the course of the next innings, it would be a duel between the two teams’ defensive performances. Due to the good pitching performance, neither team wanted to succeed in another run until the beginning of the fourth inning. Lucio Tippmann finally scored with a home run. The Frankfurters only got two runs in the following innings, the Braves built with three runs in the fifth inning (Meurer Jr., Riegger and Schmidt) and nine runs in the sixth inning (Meurer Jr., Lucio Tippmann, Harrison, De Molder, Bernhöft, Schmidt and twice Slabsche) extended their lead to 15:2.

For the hosts, pitcher De Molder was replaced in the seventh inning by Hendrik Slabsche on the mound – and he was able to force the last three outs with a good performance.

Players of the day were pitcher Michael De Molder with nine strikeouts, Joshua Lucio Tippmann with the only home run of the game and Hendrik Slabsche with four base hits.

The Friedberg Braves continue on Pentecost Sunday (May 27) with the home game against the Giessen Busters. First pitch is here again at 1pm.
