Agassi, Lendl, Murray, Thiem, Ivanisevic… Like Ruud, they lost their first three Grand Slam finals

Another disappointment. By losing in three sets against Novak Djokovic in the Roland-Garros final (7-6 [1], 6-3, 7-5), Casper Ruud lost his third consecutive final. The Norwegian, however, seems to be getting closer to his dream. Very consistent for a year, he reached his first grand final at Roland-Garros 2022, yielding to Rafael Nadal, before repeating this feat at the US Open, beaten this time by Carlos Alcaraz. This third defeat therefore seems cruel but remains encouraging, as the 4th in the world was up to the event, Sunday, against Novak Djokovic. “I’m almost there,” he rejoiced after the meeting, despite the defeat.
