Badminton team makes history

For the first time, Morelos won the gold medal in that sport thanks to Emiliano Carrera; Dana Jacobo, Luis Santino and Pablo Aguilar also collaborated with two bronze medals

Since 1996, the year in which the Conade National Games (formerly the National Olympiad) were created, Morelos had never won a gold medal in the badminton discipline, until Emiliano Carrera Gutiérrez, from the Under-15 singles category, did so at win two sets in a row against the representative of Aguascalientes, Rodrigo Sánchez.

The athlete from the town of Acatlipa, municipality of Temixco, achieved the feat at the Club Dorados headquarters, Oaxtepec.

Emiliano himself, together with Pablo Antonio Aguilar Morales, achieved a bronze in the sub-15 men’s doubles modality when measuring themselves against the hydro-warm selected Fernando Martínez and Rodrigo Sánchez,

In the 2022 edition they also obtained third place in the same modality and category.

The third medal obtained by the Morelense team in racket and cock sport was in U-15 mixed doubles, thanks to Luis Santino Vázquez and Dana Isabela Jacobo, who reached the prelude to the final.

Badminton has won five medals: bronze in 2021 through Ángel Curiel and Carlos de la Sierra; bronze in 2022, thanks to Emiliano Carrera and Pablo Aguilar; in addition to the gold and two bronzes that were added this year.

The Under-15 and Under-17 categories say goodbye to Morelos in these 2023 Conade National Games. States like Nuevo León, Jalisco, Aguascalientes, Baja California, Veracruz, Mexico City, State of Mexico; In addition to the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), they managed to get on the podium; this day begins the activity in the Under-19 senior category.
