Busquets Ferrer, García Verdura and Hernández Maeso, new Primera referees

Mateo Busquets Ferrer from the Balearic Islands, Víctor García Verdura from Catalonia and Francisco José Hernández Maeso from Extremadura will referee next season in the First Division, the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) announced on Monday after being notified by the Technical Committee of Referees (CTA). .

The three referees, who last season delivered justice in LaLiga SmartBank, thus rise in category, occupying the gap left by the Valencian Antonio Mateu Lahoz, who is retiring from arbitration; and the Madrid Valentín Pizarro Gómez and Carlos del Cerro Grande, who go to VAR.

The 28-year-old Víctor García Verdura from Barcelona managed to rise after two seasons in Second Division, where he has directed a total of 43 games. He also becomes the youngest referee in the entire Primera squad.

Meanwhile, Mateo Busquets Ferrer, from Palma and 29 years old, goes to the First Division after a single season in the silver division of Spanish football, where he has directed a total of 21 games. Previously, he was in the Spanish third category for a total of four years.

Lastly, Francisco José Hernández Maeso, 34, achieved his goal after three seasons in the Second Division with a total of 63 games officiated and ten more seasons in Second Division B. His last game this season was for promotion to the First Division disputed between Levante and Alavés.
