After the hard-fought opening success over Arthur Rinderknech, Carlos Alcaraz had a comparatively easy game in the round of 16 of the ATP 500 tournament in London’s Queen’s Club: The reigning US Open winner defeated Jiri Lehecka 6: 2 and in the round of the last 16 6:3 through.
Alcaraz, who would take the lead in the world rankings again if he won the tournament, will meet Grigor Dimitrov in the quarter-finals. So far, the 20-year-old Spaniard has not been able to win a title on grass.
