With KASK Elemento, the Bergamo-based company specializing in the development, design and production of top quality helmets revolutionizes the way of thinking about cycling helmets: a helmet without any compromise characterized by a brand new design and a series of innovative technologies capable of guaranteeing aerodynamics, ventilation and safety at the highest levels. Elemento is aimed at professional and semi-professional athletes, both on the road and in cross-country, cyclocross and gravel, and cyclists who are driven by the pursuit of performance.
KASK Elemento cycling helmet: a revolution in aerodynamics, ventilation and safety
Always active in product research and development in close contact with its teams and athletes, KASK has collaborated with the INEOS Grenadiers team on the Element project since its conception. The result is a revolutionary helmet with an innovative design, which sets a new standard for the cycling world.
In a cycling helmet, thermal comfort matters as much as aerodynamics and weight
The genesis of Elemento starts in 2020 with the analysis of a series of scientific publications that have studied the variation in athletes’ performance as their body temperature changes. The conclusion of these studies is that, in terms of performance, the athlete’s thermal comfort is as important as the aerodynamics and weight of the helmet.
Based on these studies, KASK Elemento was therefore designed to be a very aerodynamic and at the same time highly ventilated helmet, thanks to its design and the introduction of some technological innovations, such as the Fluid Carbon 12 and the Multipod.
Fluid Carbon 12
Fluid Carbon 12 is a composite technopolymer capable of absorbing more energy deriving from an impact than traditional materials, and of distributing the force generated more evenly over the entire helmet. This property has allowed KASK engineers to increase the size of the internal ducts, for greater ventilation, and at the same time to reduce the size of the ventilation holes, to improve aerodynamics.
Multipod
Multipod is a structure designed by KASK, 3D printed and used as internal padding of Elemento. This elastomer material was born thanks to the studies on the KASK Rotational Impact WG11 Test, the test protocol created by KASK which has made it possible to improve the behavior of the helmets against different types of impacts and has provided useful information to develop a level of safety still higher.
In fact, Multipod allows for better management of the energy deriving from linear and rotational impacts and has isotropic behaviour, i.e. it behaves in the same way regardless of the direction in which the force is applied. Proof of this is the fact that Elemento has obtained five stars in the authoritative Virginia Tech test which measures the performance of helmets in the event of linear and rotational impacts. Finally, the particular design of the Multipod structure has also made it possible to significantly improve the ventilation of the Elemento, increasing its thermal regulation capabilities.
Other technical features of KASK Element
Among the other features of Elemento we find OCTOFIT +, the new helmet adjustment system that ensures greater comfort and stability, and the “Pro” strap, the same extremely light strap used by the INEOS Grenadiers team.
Elemento also features a reflective insert in the back to increase the cyclist’s visibility and two different types of internal padding: in addition to the aforementioned Multipod, there is also one in merino wool, to guarantee comfort and thermoregulation never seen before.
Element colors
Elemento is available in the classic Black and White colours, together with the new colors with a metallic finish: Beetle Green, Oxford Blue, Red and Silver.
Elemento, like the other products of the KASK family, was developed in compliance with the KASK Rotational Impact WG11 Test, the internal protocol adopted by KASK which measures the performance of its helmets with respect to rotational impacts.
With a weight of 260 grams (size M) Elemento is available at a recommended retail price of 375.00 Euros.
