At 25, Delphine Delrue could participate for the second time in the Olympic Games.

The badminton player, member of Bc Chambly-Oise (Bye), is world No. 7 in mixed doubles alongside partner Thom Gicquel. However, sixteen pairs, from each of the five continental confederations of the Bwf, will participate in the Paris Olympics.

“To get there, you have to score the most points in international events until April 28, 2024,” recalls the player born in Sarcelles, originally from Mesnil-Aubry and a long-time member of Us Ézanville-Écouen (Usee).

Perfs of choice

At the beginning of the year, she made a strong impression by reaching the semi-finals in Jakarta as well as the quarter-finals in Kuala Lumpur and New Delhi (beaten by the Chinese world champions Zheng and Huang) and in Müllheim (Germany) .

“Since the opening of the Olympic qualification period on May 1, Delphine and Thom have achieved several performances, notably eliminating the pair Watanabe? Until then, from June 19 to 23, 2023, in Spain, Delphine should participate in the European Cup of champion clubs with the Bcco after having contributed a month ago to the 8th national title of her team.
