Behind Kai Havertz is a season at Chelsea to forget. In the summer, the German national player could now switch to an absolute top club.
Just two years ago, Kai Havertz was the celebrated hero at Chelsea. In the 2021 Champions League final, the offensive man shot the “Blues” to a 1-0 win over Manchester City. But the club is now further away from the premier class than the DFB star would like it to be.
In the past season, Chelsea ended up in 12th place in the table. International business has missed the team by miles. Unimaginable when you consider that the club invested over 300 million euros in new players in the winter alone.
Kai Havertz scored seven goals in 35 Premier League appearances last season, making him one of the best players of the season. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the German national player is therefore on the list of a top international club and it has it all.
Selling is the only option for Chelsea
Real Madrid are said to be interested in Havertz. Carlo Ancelotti, coach of the reigning Champions League winners, appreciates the 23-year-old. According to Romano, Chelsea are also said to be ready to negotiate a departure from Havertz. However, a loan deal is not an issue for the Londoners. So if Havertz wants to leave the club, Real would have to put a decent transfer fee on the table.
According to the “transfermarkt.de” portal, the DFB star currently has a market value of 60 million euros. In 2020 Chelsea paid 80 million euros for Havertz to Bayer 04 Leverkusen. It is quite possible that the English capital club would become weak with a similar sum. At Real, Havertz would encounter two other German players in Toni Kroos and Antonio Rüdiger.
