Did Peirano’s arrival get tangled up? Santa Fe would continue analyzing options

Although there was talk of a verbal agreement between the club and the Uruguayan coach, the business is not closed.

The Board of Directors of Santa Fe would not have agreed to link Pablo Peiranowith whom it was said that Eduardo Méndez -president of the club- had reached a verbal agreement for his arrival in the second half of 2023.

The 48-year-old Uruguayan coach, who currently leads Cusco and who worked with the cardinal in 2015 as Gerardo Pelusso’s assistant, also evaded questions from the Peruvian press on the subject. His arrival in Santa Fe seems to be on hold and will not be defined until next week. In the meantime, they would continue to analyze resumes.

The journalist Pipe Sierra assured that “Despite the verbal agreement between the president and Pablo Peirano (48), not all of the Santa Fe board of directors agree on his hiring; they did not approve it, but they did not rule it out either. They will be taken until the another week to decide, while they continue to analyze names”.

As for Peirano, the press consulted him directly about Santa Fe before the duel against Universitario. The Uruguayan avoided referring to the subject. “The game is the most important thing. That’s not it. The rest are things that are behind. My work is here in Cusco.”
