As he announced through a video posted on his social networks on Wednesday, Didier Drogba is now the owner of an E1 Series team. The Electric Boat Worlds, whose calendar is not yet known, will begin this year. In this competition, ten teams and twenty pilots will compete in boat races through a series of knockout rounds that will take place over two days. The races, meanwhile, will last fourteen minutes, and will take place in several cities such as Monaco, Venice and Miami.

Concerned about the environment, Didier Drogba, who launched a tree planting operation in 2019 to fight against deforestation, supports the Blue Action program launched by E1 Series, which aims to protect the marine ecosystem. “Pollution has caused the destruction and loss of coastal habitats around the world. The degradation of our underwater ecosystems poses a serial threat to marine life and the livelihoods of coastal communities. We therefore want to have a positive impact through the accelerated development of clean technologies and inspire change.”, he confided to the website of the organization. The Blue Action program will be led by marine ecologist Carlos Duarte, who will oversee the development of the sustainability strategy.
