Prostějov welcomes another reinforcement for the new season. The defender Petr Šidlík recently became that player, who ended his career in January 2022 after being traded to Zlín, but then ended up playing in the second league in Slovakia.

The 29-year-old defender drew attention to himself at the end of the transfer window in the season before last, when he was traded from Mladá Boleslav to sinking Zlín.

The native of Jihlava then ended his career, but according to him, there was nothing personal against the Rams.

But in the end, he changed his mind and headed to Žilina, which plays in the second Slovak league.

In the past year, he played 58 games for her, including the playoffs (5+23). Now, however, the former player of Jihlava, Vítkovic or Hradec reports returning to the Czech Republic.

“We are expecting a second addition to the family and we appreciate it all the more that we had the opportunity to come closer to home.”

He nodded at the offer of the ambitious Prostějov.

Participant of two junior championships, he has played 296 matches in the highest Czech competition. “Petr Šidlík is a defender with rich experience from the extra league. We really needed his services. I am convinced that he will help us to strengthen our defense,” comments coach Martin Štrba on the new reinforcement.
