FC Schalke 04 Confirms Signing of Bryan Lasme for the 2nd Bundesliga Season

FC Schalke 04 has the fourth external new signing for the coming season in the 2nd Bundesliga confirmed. At the end of his contract, striker Bryan Lasme will move from future third division side Arminia Bielefeld to the relegated Bundesliga team on a free transfer. The 24-year-old has signed for Schalke until 2027.

Performance data from Bryan Lasme

The 24-year-old Frenchman switched from FC Sochaux to the Alm in 2021 for 800,000 euros and has since played 61 competitive games for East Westphalia, in which he contributed 16 goals. With eight goals and four assists, the left-footed player was one of the top scorers behind Robin Hack and Fabian Klos in the past season, but the 1.94 meter tall offensive man was unable to prevent the second relegation in the DSC jersey despite good statistics.

VfB Stuttgart and Hamburger SV were also said to be interested in offensive power. For the Gelsenkirchen storm center, Lasme Stand would now be the fifth regular professional in coach Thomas Reis’ squad for the coming season. But it is more likely that he should be used on the wings.

Schalke sports director on Lasme: “Very exciting combination” for the flank

André Hechelmann, sporting director of FC Schalke 04, said in a statement on the Royal Blues’ website: “Bryan brings a very exciting combination, especially for the flank: At 1.94 meters tall, his acceleration and speed are extraordinary. He gives us even more variability in the offensive game. In addition, Bryan absolutely convinced us with his demeanor in personal discussions that he will be an asset to our team, both as a sport and as a person.”

Coach Reis added: “Bryan often looks for depth, getting behind the opponent and the defensive line. He will help us to create chances even against deep opponents. With his dynamism and straightforwardness, he also exudes danger in offensive transition situations.”
