Fluminense debuts in the U-14 VR Cup this Tuesday — Fluminense Football Club

Fluminense enters the field this Tuesday (06/06) for the debut in the VR Cup Sub-14, one of the most relevant competitions in the country in the category. Tricolor’s first challenge will be against RB Bragantino, at 1 pm. The club is in Group C, based in Pinheiral, alongside Cruzeiro, RB Bragantino and Serrano.

“The VR Cup is a traditional and high-level competition, as big clubs in the country come to Volta Redonda to participate. Thus helping the evolution and growth of the boys in their training as people and athletes”, said coach Diego Branco.

The VR Cup brings together major Brazilian clubs, including Atlético-MG, Corinthians, Coritiba, Cruzeiro, Flamengo, Grêmio, São Paulo and Vasco da Gama. In all, there are 16 teams divided into four groups, playing each other in a single shift. The top two teams in each group advance to the quarterfinals. Matches will be played in two halves of 30 minutes each.

Undefeated for 10 months, Fluminense’s 2009 generation continues to stand out in the Sub-14 and has yet to lose this year. Under the command of coach Diego Branco, the young players have shown evolution both in the technical and personal aspects.

“We are going strong and confident, however, with a lot of respect for our opponents, who we know work as hard as we do in search of victories and challenges. Our fans can expect a high intensity team with strong marking and a game with ball possession , construction and great finishing power. This group will continue to evolve and we will do our best to bring the title to Xerém”, said the coach.
