Fluminense said goodbye to the Copa do Brasil this Thursday (01/06). After the 0-0 draw in the first leg of the round of 16, Tricolor was beaten by Flamengo 2-0 at Maracanã. The team surrendered on the pitch and dominated the entire match, but failed to achieve a positive result.
Under the command of coach Fernando Diniz, Fluminense returns to the field on Sunday (04/06) for the ninth round of the Brazilian Championship. The confrontation, against Red Bull Bragantino, takes place at 4 pm, in Maracanã.
FIRST TIME
The game started with a high degree of intensity. With Fluminense controlling possession, André countered with Ganso and took a risk from outside the area in the 15th minute, but was stopped. At 25, Cano hit from afar and scared the goalkeeper. Three minutes later, Ganso took a corner kick, Nino managed the deflection and Cano sent it over.
At 32 minutes, Arrascaeta opened the scoring for the opponent. Until the end of the first stage, Tricolor kept pressing in search of the goal, but bumped into the strong opposing defense.
SECOND TIME
Fluminense came back fast for the second half. In the first minute, after a corner kick, Nino was in danger with a good finish, requiring a two-time save from the goalkeeper. Putting pressure on the opponent, the team continued to create good opportunities, such as a corner kick at 16 minutes, when the ball almost fell to Ganso in front of the goal, and a deep throw from the number 10 to Cano at 25 minutes.
In the 40th minute, Arias advanced on the right, cleared the marker and crossed to Cano, who headed close to the goal. At 45, in a counterattack, the opponent expanded.
