Four Young Tlaxcalans Hope to Make Waves at National Judo Competition

The peak moment of a whole year has arrived for four young people, who represent Tlaxcala in the women’s judo of the Conade 2023 National Games, at the Villahermosa, Tabasco headquarters.

The four exponents arrived yesterday morning, Thursday, by air from Mexico City to the hot city in the southeast of the country, which reaches 40 degrees Celsius.

Concentrated on their competition, relaxed, they trust their work and the strategies established with their coaches.

Today Fernanda Muñiz Loyola will be in action in the -58 kilograms sub-15 category and Ariani Espinoza Rosas in the +64 kilograms sub-15 category.

While tomorrow, Saturday, the world champion Bárbara Natalia Padilla Rugerio will do it in the +70 kilograms sub-18 category and Ariadna George Zárate, -70 kilograms sub-18.

Two wins to go

Each category has the competition of eight to 10 judokas, so to advance to the semifinals they need to win two matches.

In this discipline, the losers in the semifinals will fight one more fight to define the bronze medalist.

The athletes are students of Miguel Ángel Muñoz Guzmán and Luis Mario López Moreno, who are part of the state delegation, in this national event.
