France already qualified for the quarter-finals of the Euro

After its narrow success against Great Britain on Friday at the Euro (63-57), France awaited the result of the next match, between Germany and Slovenia. A suspense match, settled in the last possessions, which turned in favor of the Germans (66-62). A victory which at the same time qualified France for the quarter-finals of the Euro, which will be held next Thursday in Ljubljana (Slovenia).

After winning their first two matches, against the Germans and then against the British, the Blues can no longer be overtaken in the standings by these two opponents thanks to the positive balance sheet in the event of a two- or three-way tie. France cannot be joined by Slovenia, as the two teams face off on Sunday (6:00 p.m.).

Good news for coach Jean-Aimé Toupane and his players, who will thus have five full days of rest and work to prepare for the final phase of a competition they intend to win.

Slovenia, host country, is eliminated.
