As the ‘Bild’ reports, the goalkeeper “surprised and irritated” about the reluctance of BVB officials to adjust his salary. Kobel’s current contract runs until 2026 and has an annual salary of four million euros. Talks of an upward adjustment have been planned for some time but have not yet taken place.

The parties are “in principle in exchange”, according to the tabloid, but apparently no concrete agreements have yet been made. It is therefore also not certain whether a salary increase will also be accompanied by an extension of the contract. However, it is clear that BVB intends to bind Kobel for as long as possible. In March there was talk of a new working paper up to 2028 – and an adjustment of the salary to a whopping twelve million euros.
