Basketball star Brittney Griner was voted into the all-star selection of the women’s professional league WNBA for the ninth time on Sunday. The American averaged 19.1 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.4 blocks per game for her club Phoenix Mercury this season. A little over six months ago, Griner was released from a Russian prison. She said at the time that it would take a while before she was in top form again. But the 32-year-old surpassed all expectations, sitting ninth in the league in average points per game. The All-Star Game takes place in Las Vegas on July 15.
