Hanoi, June 9.— Hanoi made effective today the donation of two thousand tons of rice to Havana in the presence of the top party leaders of both capitals, Dinh Tien Dung and Luis Antonio Torres Iríbar, respectively.
The signing ceremony of the act of delivery of the donation, signed by the Cuban side by Ambassador Orlando Hernández Guillén, took place after Tien Dung and Torres Iríbar signed a collaboration agreement between the Provincial Committees of the Communist Parties of Vietnam (PCV). and Cuba (PCC).
Torres Iríbar arrived here the day before at the head of a partisan delegation from the Cuban capital, and began the program of his official visit this morning with talks with Tien Dung, also a member of the Political Bureau of the PCV.
In the fraternal meeting, both leaders agreed on the importance of expanding and making cooperation more efficient to take special bilateral relations to a new level, in correspondence with the solid ties of brotherhood and solidarity between Cuba and Vietnam, forged by their leaders Fidel Castro. and Ho Chi Minh.
They also valued the potential areas of collaboration, advocated increasing the exchange of experiences, mainly in areas such as public health and high-tech agriculture, and explained the work, results, and projections in partisan work in each of their territories.
The first secretary of the PCC in Havana and his companions will also be received this Friday in a courtesy audience by the member of the Political Bureau and permanent member of the PCV Secretariat Troung Thi Mai, and they will pay homage to the Cuban National Hero, José Martí, at the monument that perpetuates his memory here.
According to the program of the visit, tomorrow they will place floral offerings at the Mausoleum of the hero of Vietnamese independence, President Ho Chi Minh, and before the Monument of Heroes and Martyrs, and then move to the municipality of Me Linh, where they will meet their models socioeconomic and agroeconomic development.
In the afternoon they will visit the Hanoi National Cancer Hospital and then the modern system of supermarkets and shopping centers in Time City.
