Slaps, kicks, punches. And then again hard hitting with a baseball bat. The 35-year-old Indian had no qualms about savagely beating his wife, since his wedding day, which took place in 2016. But it wasn’t just the beatings. There was also sexual violence. And the insults, the insults, the threats. All even under the eyes of their minor children.
But the life of terror lived by the woman was finally interrupted on the morning of June 6, when the agents of the State Police di Latina carried out the precautionary measure of custody in prison against the man, seriously suspected of the crimes of ill-treatment and sexual violence against his wife.
Investigations: cruel violence against his wife
L’investigation activity carried out by the policemen of the Latina Mobile Squad originated from a lawsuit filed by the suspect’s wife last May, following which the woman was then placed in a protected structure. In the lawsuit, the wife reported being the victim of serious episodes of physical and psychological violence by her husband from the first days of marriage.
The woman then listed a long series of harassments – such as the obsessive control of his cell phone and his every movement, the use of insulting and denigrating epithets – and violent attacks which also took place in front of his younger daughters. The violence would also have occurred during the two pregnancies. The woman would also be forced to have sexual intercourse: for each refusal of her, she would be beaten with kicks, slaps, punches and even with a baseball bat.
The serious injuries
Evidence obtained by interviewing the victim’s brother and obtaining medical reports and photographs proving the injuries suffered, therefore, allowed the local Public Prosecutor’s Office to request and obtain the precautionary measure of custody in prison.
