Inter-Manchester City, injury for De Bruyne: forced out in the 36th minute

Two finals, two injuries. The last and decisive act of the Champions League is evidently a curse for Kevin De Bruyne. As happened on the nefarious (for City) night in Porto in 2021, even in Istanbul the Belgian midfielder’s match ended earlier than expected. Even earlier, to be exact, compared to the one lost against Chelsea, in which it was forced to leave after 60′ due to a hard blow suffered by Rudiger. This time no contrast, but a simple (so to speak) muscle problem in the right thigh flexors, accused around 30′ of the first half. De Bruyne tried to grit his teeth after the intervention of the City doctors, he held out for a few more minutes but in the 36th minute he had to give up and ask Guardiola to replace him, with a look that was a whole program. In his place, the City coach sent Foden onto the pitch, often used as an offensive right winger, but also skilled at juggling in the middle of the pitch. Of the two Champions League finalsso, De Bruynewho has not suffered such an injury since January 2021 and who has always been available to Guardiola this season, in fact he only played one: 36′ today and 60′ two years ago. A real curse. Which Inter fans obviously hope will lead to the exact same result.
