James Harden probably played his last game for the Philadelphia 76ers. Shortly before starting free agency, he and his employer are looking for a trade partner.

As US media reported on Thursday, 33-year-old Harden has taken out a contract option for another year with the Sixers, which guarantees him a salary of $35.6 million. The goal of the point guard, however, is a farewell to Philadelphia.

“The Beard” cannot extend prematurely, which means that he would be available to a new team for one season and would enter the market as a free agent in 2024.

Clippers, Knicks – oder Heat?

According to US expert Adrian Wojnarowski (ESPN), the Los Angeles Clippers and the New York Knicks are particularly suitable as new career stations, Shams Charania (“The Athletic”) also names runners-up Miami Heat. Meanwhile, it is still unclear what value the Sixers would get for their strategist, who was traded from the Brooklyn Nets to Philadelphia in February 2022. Harden signed a two-year deal there last summer for a total of $68.6 million.

Harden, a 10-time All-Star and 2018 MVP of the year, is still missing an NBA championship.
