Ready for Wimbledon: Jannik Sinner gives the all-clear for Wimbledon.
After Jannik Sinner gave up in the quarterfinals at the ATP tournament in Halle, many tennis fans had reason to worry that participation in Wimbledon could be at risk. But the South Tyrolean gave the all-clear on social networks and was ready to take part in the third Grand Slam of the year. The right leg injury will not prevent a start.
The 21-year-old Italian reached the quarter-finals of the grass classic last year and will certainly be counted among the extended circle of favorites by many experts this year, even if there have been no great successes on grass so far.
2-0 set lead against Djokovic last year
A year ago, in the round of eight players, after defeating Carlos Alcaraz, Sinner was already two sets ahead of eventual Wimbledon winner Novak Djokovic, but then had to congratulate the Serb on his comeback after five sets. A match that will certainly give Sinner hope and ambition to play for the title this year.
