Judokas from Mexico win Gold and Bronze at the Santiago Panamerican Open 2023


Members of the Mexican Judo Team took the caste to climb the podium of the Santiago Panamerican Open 2023, held in the Republic of Chile, where they managed to hang a Gold medal and two more Bronze.

The achievement of the Mexicans took place this Saturday, where Robin Jara -66 kg., managed to take the gold medal, after in his first fight he managed to defeat the Chilean Michael Vargas, to immediately fight against Samir Londono, from Colombia, whom also managed to overcome.

After these two achievements, the national faced Matías Pilo la Cuadra from Argentina, whom he defeated to fight for the gold medal against the Brazilian Eric Takabatake, whom he managed to defeat to climb to the top of the podium.

For her part, Renata Ortiz -57kg., faced the Chilean Sasha Muñoz in her first match, over whom she managed to prevail to later face Brisa Gómez, from Argentina, who managed to overcome her, for which she went to the repechage where she faced and beat Micaela Hernández, from Chile, to win the bronze medal.

Another of the medalists was Arath Juárez -60kg., who from the beginning fought against Bryan Quezada, from Chile, whom he managed to defeat to go on to fight against the Brazilian Chrystian Diógenes Da Silva, who beat the Mexican who went to the repechage where he fought against Jairo Moreno and later the Ecuadorian Bryan Garboa, whom he managed to win to take the Bronze medal.
