Last week came the surprising news that Karel Geraets and Union parted ways. Now one has signed a newer and more stable contract.
The Newspaper of West Flanders managed to report that Karel Geraerts has given his ‘Yes’. However, the former Union trainer did not do this to a club, but to his fiancé Julie Vanlerberghe. The couple got married in the town hall of Bruges.
“Since my time as a footballer at Club Brugge, I have continued to live in Bruges. We have been living together in the Sint-Andries borough for a long time and are very happy there,” says Geraerts. “My girlfriend is a real Bruges native and we like to stay here. Yes, it is really a very happy day for me.”
Karel Geraerts is mainly mentioned at a number of French clubs. After his excellent performances with Union in both the Jupiler Pro League and the Europa League, the former midfielder of Club Brugge and Standard will probably not be without a club for long.
