Kim actually just joined Napoli at the start of the 2022/2023 season. This South Korean defender was plotted to be a replacement for Kalidou Koulibaly who left for Chelsea.
Who would have thought Kim’s appearance exceeded expectations. The 26-year-old’s toughness in the heart of defense helped Napoli win trophies Italy League this season.
So there is actually no reason for Napoli to sell Kim in the summer of 2023. Even so, the clause in the player’s contract could be a problem.

Release Clause
Kim has a release clause of 60 million Euros in his current contract. However, this clause will only be active for the first 15 days of July 2023.
That means, Napoli cannot refuse if there is a team that is able to redeem the clause.
Man United, who are aware of the release clause, are reportedly preparing. There will be approximately two weeks of time to bring Kim to Old Trafford.
