FC Bayern is facing a major upheaval in various parts of the team this summer. In the defense, Benjamin Pavard and Lucas Hernández in particular have recently been traded as candidates for departure. The latter has now probably come to an agreement with (s) a new club.
After Lucas Hernández seriously injured his knee at the end of November 2022, there have been repeated rumors in recent months about the future of the defender, who has almost recovered from his cruciate ligament rupture. In the meantime, staying with FC Bayern seemed conceivable, the FCB bosses were planning to extend the contract, which was still dated until 2024. But the situation changed: Paris Saint-Germain got serious about the French, so much so that Hernández recently told the Munich officials that he would like to move to PSG.
In the meantime, the last step in poker for the Bayern pros with the French champions seems to have been taken. As the Spanish “AS” reports, the 27-year-old and PSG have agreed to work together. A contract is ready to be signed.
What is still missing is an agreement with FC Bayern. The Parisians are confident of being able to complete the transfer in the coming days, it is said.
Until recently, the German record champions had tried to keep the defender, who was signed by Atlético Madrid for the record sum of 80 million euros in summer 2019, and to persuade him to extend the contract. But the negotiations failed because Hernández wanted to go to PSG.
FC Bayern needs a replacement
So now the poker between PSG and Munich is on, which according to “AS” should take place in the coming week. A meeting between the officials of both clubs is planned.
Important prerequisite for the deal to be implemented quickly: Bayern first need a replacement. However, this seems to have been more or less found in the person of Min-jae Kim.
As previously reported by other sources, the “AS” also writes that the Bundesliga champion is calling for 50 million euros for Hernández. PSG could easily pay this amount, but will try everything in the negotiations to push the amount down.
However, since the French national player has clearly stated his desire to change, both parties will probably come to an agreement in the near future.
