Minors basketball is preparing to face a year full of changes. For Serie C and Serie D the first new entry will concern the denomination, which will see last year’s C Gold and C Silver engulfed in what will be called Serie C while Serie D will become Regional Division 1. Serie C will be entirely enclosed in a single macro-group of 24 teams made up of the first 10 classified in the C Silver, the 6 teams of the old C Gold defeated by the playoff pairings (which saw Siena triumph over Quarrata and Arezzo over Prato), together with the teams classified from 13th to 16th th place in the same championship. The two teams that have obtained the passage of category from Serie D, namely Bottegone and San Vincenzo and probably a couple that have asked for the reepscaggio, will complete the picture. In the next championship, the first classified will go up to interregional B, 9 teams will keep the category and 14 will have to start again from Regional Division 1. Change is in the air but with a decidedly different meaning also for DR1 which will be divided into three groups of 14 teams with the sensational news that there will be no promotions in C. The maximum objective will be to stay in the category that only 14 teams can obtain; There will be as many as 28 relegations in Regional Division 2. Also given the increase in the costs of the parameters of the senior members, some DR1 teams in the Valdinievole are considering whether or not to give up the category and then try to relaunch themselves from the following season. These are just hypotheses at the moment, considering that the official registrations will take place around mid-July. What is certain is that Monsummano, Agliana, Quarrata (to be understood if it will be fished out in the interregional) and Bottegone will be certain to face the only Serie C while for the Regional Division 1 the situation of the various Pistoia teams is not yet entirely clear with rumors continuous that could lead to twists at any moment.
