The sale of new light cars in the country showed a recovery during the month of May, The Inegi reported this Friday.
In the fifth month of the year, 102 thousand 697 new vehicles were sold in the country, figure 5.2 percent higher than that registered in April. This increase occurred after sales fell in April compared to the previous month, after two consecutive months of increases.

In its annual comparison, sales of new cars grew 12.6 percent in May. This is the best result in sales for the fifth month of the year in five years, according to the Inegi.

In the period January-May 515 thousand 433 new light vehicles were placedwhich represents an increase of 20.4 percent compared to what was reported during the same period of 2022.
