Olympic Games 2024: Crédit Agricole supports pole vaulter Thibaut Collet

12,000 euros per year for two years, with the possibility of extending for one year. This is the commitment made by Crédit Agricole Sud Rhône-Alpes (Casra) to Thibaut Collet, perchiste Grenoble in the French top three.

This commitment was formalized by the signing of a partnershipTuesday, May 30, at Montbonnot-Saint-Martin.

“It is a first for us to be a partner of an individual athletecomments Jean-Pierre GaillardPresident of Casra. The particularity is the fact of embodying a sport, its values, without taking refuge behind a team or a collective. Through his behavior, Thibaut will embody this sport, its ethics, a healthy lifestyle, etc.

Pierre Fort, Crédit Agricole Sud Rhône-Alpes: “Thibault Collet is a good communicator”

Crédit Agricole, at the national level, is a partner of the French football and judo teams and all the regional banks are partners of local rugby clubs. Casra launched, three months ago, a call for applications with professional athletes in its pool: Isere, Ardeche, Drome and some towns in the south-east of Lyon in the Rhône.

“Five athletes made a video to tell us their desire and the Casra employees voted”precise Peter Strong, CEO of Casra. Among those who responded were professionals in climbing, judo, gymnastics… “Thibaut is a good communicator. His video made the difference with our employees.”

Financial assistance is welcome for the top athlete:

I have two training places, one in Montbonnot and the other in Clermont-Ferrand. This incurs costs. It is a sport where it is possible to earn a living but we remain very far from the standards of footballers. Having financial partners is a serenity and a big plus. This allows us to get up in the morning without asking the question how we are going to pay the rent at the end of the month?

In return for this financial support, Thibaut Collet undertakes to meet regularly with Casra employees and to participate in various events in order, in particular, to bear witness on his approach as a top athlete.

“The idea is to share my experience as a high-level athlete and to show that between the world of sport and that of business, there are many similarities, especially in the approach to objectives.” A first meeting is scheduled Thursday June 22 between the athlete and the collaborators and administrators of Casra at Chateauneuf-sur-Isere (26).
