“It’s a challenge for me. I am looking forward to a year and a half in Poland. Mr. Pelta and I have known each other for a long time and when he approached me, I didn’t hesitate, the decision was quick,” admitted the 1997 UEFA Cup winner.

At Střelnica, he replaces coach David Horejš, whose disgruntled club owner Miroslav Pelta prematurely recalled the second day after finishing the group for rescue. “I would like to take Jablonec higher, where it belongs. I remember the times when the Europa League was played here. I was in Trnava and we also got into the basic group. It will be a lot about honest work. Of course, with us coaches, everything depends on the results,” added Látal, whose assistant will be Tomáš Čížek and, after the end of his playing career, Jan Krob. Látal last led Olomouc in the Czech league. In the league, he coached 83 games with a record of 23 wins, 30 draws and the same number of losses.

Jablonec has a good team, there is a nice stadium and overall there is a pleasant atmosphere. If we do well in the league, we can fight for European cups,” believes the South American. The trio signed a multi-year contract with the club.
