Plaimpied-Givaudins Badminton Club Emerges as Third Club in Cher with Historic Season

“With seventy-five members (a 47% increase) local or from neighboring towns, Plaimpied-Givaudins badminton has become the 3rd club in Cher. With the title of departmental 3 interclub champion (in May), this season was another historic season for the club.

The club is made up of fifty-seven leisure players, twenty-two competitors and a school certified by the French Badminton Federation (twenty-four young people aged 8 to 16). A 3 rd slot, open this season, has been dedicated to the latter.

“During this intense season, we have successfully participated in many local, regional and sometimes national competitions,” President Christophe Lemerle announced on Friday during the general assembly.

.

Throughout the year, the club continued to structure itself by training volunteers, in particular to supervise the school.

Among the 2022-2023 competitions, the second edition of Bad in Plaimpied (BiP) welcomed, in April, more than one hundred and ten players from Cher, the region and even further afield.

On the program for 2023-2024 are planned numerous participations in the various championships, the organization of the 3rd edition of the BiP, the date of which will be specified later, the drafting of a new project for the 2024 Olympic Games as well as the training of a new referee and a coach.

At the end of the meeting, D3 captain Hoa-Ming Saiphou received from the hands of David Baudrier, chairman of the Cher committee, the D3 interclub cup, champion 2023.

A small downside was noted with the increase in stamps on FFBaD licenses and with the league which will lead to an increase in the membership fee from 5 to 10 euros for the next season.
