Roberto Firmino in Talks to Join Al-Ahli Club: Potential Three-Year Contract Offered

“The al-Ahli club have offered Firmino a three-year contract until June 2026. They hope that an agreement can be found this week so that the player can still have a medical between Wednesday and Friday,” reports renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano on Twitter.

At thirty-one years old, Firmino is not one of the players who should slowly end his career due to his old age. In the winter, there was still speculation that Barcelona or Atlético Madrid were interested in the striker, who scored a solid thirteen goals and added five assists for Liverpool in a good season.

Later, interest narrowed down to teams from Turkey, the USA or Saudi Arabia. The British media also informs that al-Ahli club should have been the favorite to win the 2019 Champions League. “They are already preparing for medical tests,” The Mirror website confidently writes.

Firmino would thus expand the colony of players who still roamed the lawns in the colors of the biggest European clubs last season. A lot has already been written about the Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo, who was caught by the an-Nasr club.

In recent weeks, the winner of the last Ballon d’Or, Karim Benzema, or the midfielder from Chelsea with an inexhaustible physical pool, N’Golo Kanté, also headed to the Middle East. Both will equally play for al-Ittihad.

Conversely, Anderson Talisca will appear alongside Ronaldo. Large reinforcements are then reported by al-Hilál, who were supposed to receive a rejection from Luka Modrič. Nevertheless, the owners don’t have to be too sad, because they have acquired Ruben Neves and, now, stopper Kalidou Koulibaly.

But the list of stars does not end there, a number of players are said to be about to sign lucrative contracts. The list includes Marcelo Brozovič from Inter Milan or the pair from Chlesia Edouard Mendy and Hakim Zijach. There is also speculation about the transfer of Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey, Crystal Palace striker Wilfried Zaha or last year’s Champions League winner with Manchester City, Bernardo Silva.
