The most consolidated youth leisure program in the city, ’12 lunas’, will offer 120 recreational, cultural and sports activities this summer with the aim of offering young people healthy alternatives during these holidays.

With the arrival of good weather, activities outdoors and in contact with nature such as excursions, canoeing and river descents have prevailed.

This year, the offer of activities has also increased, reinforcing this program promoted by the Youth Service to offer young people between the ages of 14 and 30 a model of relationships and healthier free time.

In this way, some of the most successful sports or cultural activities in recent years are maintained and new ones are incorporated to meet the needs of the city’s youth. In total, there will be 120 activities with 3,000 places “for boys and girls to have fun, learn and socialize in a healthy and creative leisure environment”, commented the Councilor for Youth.

All the activities are completely free and seek to encourage social relationships, learning, and the healthy use of free time among young people, as well as providing spaces for leisure, recreation, and fun away from any practice that puts their health at risk.

Grouped into different sections, ranging from sports, culture, environment and gastronomy, among others, some are offered such as paintball, archery, calisthenics or self-defense, Italian and vegan cooking courses or diving in the aquarium. .

One of the most popular sections among the young public are the “round trip” excursions. In this edition, young people will have many options to choose from, since a day of fun is offered at PortAventura, Aquapark de la Pineda or the Warner Park in Madrid. The registration period opens this June 19 for the activities that take place in July.

For those scheduled in August, the period will open on July 31, while for those in September it will be from August 14. From the Youth Service they seek to offer a complete and diverse program that responds to the concerns and motivations of the young people of the city. Each user may participate in up to 12 program activities.

Zaragoza receives the largest subsidy from the National Plan on Drugs The ’12 moons’ program, whose main objectives are promoting young people’s health and fostering socio-cultural activities, is partly financed with a subsidy from the Ministry’s National Plan on Drugs of Health, which distributes the funds seized from drug trafficking among local corporations.

In the last call, Zaragoza was the city that received the second highest amount, only behind Madrid, with 294,556 euros. In total, in 2023, 4,199,999 euros will be distributed among 39 municipalities.
