The 84-year-old Yankees broadcaster was gouged in the face by a foulball but didn’t miss a shot

John Sterling is a legend among Major League Baseball announcers. Sterling called New York Yankees Since 1989, and at 84 he’s still going strong. You’d think Sterling would have seen it all after covering sports live for five decades, but baseball always has an opportunity to give us something new. saturday night vs Boston Red SoxSterling became the story of the game because of his bravery and persistence in the press box.

As New York won 3-1 in the ninth game, Sterling was hit in the face by a foul ball. The ball bounced loudly as it entered the press box and Sterling was heard “Ah! Ah!” Ah!” shouted before the ball could hit him. However, Sterling shrugged off the game and advanced to the Finals to earn another Yankees victory.

That ball seemed to hit him hard. Of course, Sterling protested, calling it a “blitzkrieg” after the game.
